The late 50s Jazzmaster used wide, flat coils produced a deep, rich tone that Fender hoped would appeal to Jazz players. While it did, it also became the go to instrument for so many of the instrumental bands of the 60s. And, it turns out, the Jazzmaster is a monster when turned up and played through a fuzz pedal.
