Portrait Miniature of Edward VI c.1680A sublime, delicate and diminutive Tudor style miniature portrait depicting Edward VI (1537 1553) in the Manner of Hans Holbein the Younger. Created c. 1680 or possibly earlier. The young auburn haired King wears an embellished red coat, an bejewelled wide brimmed court bonnet with a white plume. Oil on copper or velum. Set within a gilt metal mount with pierced spiral cresting. Edward VI, born in 1537, was the son of Henry VIII and Jane Seymour.
