Offering by Diane Fine and Mario LaplanteIn a Kyoto cemetery we photographed offerings (water, flowers, incense) left by mourners in the small wells carved into each memorial stone. The poignancy of the site was heightened by the random embellishments (blossoms, leaves) of Nature. Offering combines letterpress and digital printing on Masa paper. The body of the text was taken from various translations of the Mahayana Buddhist Heart Sutra.
