EwerA pottery pitcher of a different sort. This pouring vessel is a modern take on a pottery ewer from 1000 BC china, western Zhou. I fell in love with the original and wanted to make it for the wood and gas kiln. The ewer is glazed in a shino glaze, which is basically a salmon white glaze. In shino glazes, the firing process serendipitously creates the tiny dots and grey variation you may see on the glaze surface. I use one of these ewers for ice tea and
