Sunrise, the Maharees, Co. KerryThe Maharees is a narrow spit of land that reaches out into Tralee Bay, and from up here on the slopes above Brandon you can see the full length of it. I was set up well before dawn for this one, and the wait paid off. The sun came through low cloud right on the horizon and lit the whole bay in one go. That winding road in the lower right is what makes this image work for me. It pulls you down from the high ground toward the coast and gives the whole
